Math Playground
Hello everyone,
After a long time, we are together
again:) I will talk about the app that
is Math Playground.
We are at a time that
technology is so often used and children spend their time on the computer with
gaming. What do you think about turning that losing
time with game into an effective and instructive time? Math Playground will
help you:)
Math Playground is a online site
that includes many math games, logic puzzle and a variety of problem solving
activities. Children learn mathematic with the game in enjoyable way. Also, it is kidSAFE CERTIFIED. This
means that Math Playground provide safe place to children to learn math
concept.
As I said
before, there are many games according to students' grade from 1 to 6. These
games are categorized into six parts that are math games, logic games, math
arcade, story math, math videos and CCSS. If we look at these part by part
briefly, math games based on math facts and problem solving like addition-
subtraction games or fraction and decimal games. In the logic games part, there
are fun problem solving challenges. That part require the critical thinking and
students should be careful in this part. For example, there is a game about the
parking and the size of cars and the area of parking area are given. In this
part, students are asked to park these cars in the least space. Also, thanks to
logic games improve the students' reasoning and problem solving abilities. Math
arcade part help students to do practice about math facts. Additionally,
students can model math world problems and see the solution step by step in the
story math games. Math videos give opportunity to students to understand the
concepts. Videos contain the lecturing and problem solving with the animation.
The last one is also about the facts and problems solving according to grade
level.
This site
allows students to play games but at the same time help them to learn math
concepts, reasoning and also problem solving in enjoyable way. I hope with the
this site, we can reduce the fair of students' math fair a little more .
